TLC Workshop 11/30: Strategies for End-of-Semester Assessment

Strategies for End-of-Semester Assessment
Wednesday, 11/30 1-3pm Room 9207

Are you feeling overwhelmed by end-of-semester grading? Join the Teaching and Learning Center for a workshop on End-of-Semester Assessment, Wednesday, Nov. 30th from 1-3pm in room 9207.

In this workshop, we’ll discuss how to streamline your end-of-semester workload by developing strategies to mark assignments, including papers and final exams, quickly and efficiently. We’ll discuss ways to write clear, high-stakes assignments and consider how to build rubrics that reinforce the objectives of the assignment for both you and your students as well as expedite the process of assessment. We’ll explore examples of both high-stakes and low-stakes assignments you might use in your classes to encourage students to reflect on and synthesize what they’ve learned throughout  the semester.

Please bring any end-of-semester assignments or rubrics you would like to develop and workshop.
