Workshop: Open & Digital Pedagogy: Teaching with WordPress and the CUNY Academic Commons

Friday, February 7 | 1:00 – 3:00 pm | Room C201

Join the staff from the Teaching and Learning Center on Friday 2/7 from 1-3 pm in Room C201 (concourse level) for a workshop that explores open and digital pedagogy. Because teaching and learning is often invisible to those outside of our classes, in this workshop weโ€™ll explore methods and digital tools that allow instructors and their students to engage with wider audiences beyond the classroom.

We will introduce strategies for developing experiential learning activities, incorporating open educational resources, and teaching with open platforms such as WordPress and the CUNY Academic Commons. Participants will have a chance to workshop their own courses and spend time researching resources, tools, and platforms to use in their teaching.

This workshop is open to all members of the New York City Digital Humanities community, as part of โ€œNYCDH Week.โ€

The workshop is geared towards all levels of WordPress skill and experience. Some knowledge of WordPress will be beneficial to the workshop experience but we also encourage WordPress novices to attend. If youโ€™re new to WordPress or the CUNY Academic Commons, you can consult the help section on the Commons or the WordPress codex, watch the Commonsโ€™ video tour, or sign up for an account.

To register for this workshop, click โ€œConfirm RSVPโ€ on the NYCDH workshop page.
